![]() I love maschine, I bought an MPC live and sold it after a year. The only reason I'm selling the Studio is because its too large for my setup, I'm sticking with the mickro and mk2ĮDIT: I guess this isnt really talking you out of it. I'm sure you are familiar with the concept as you use a push which has a lot of quick key / shift key commands. Learning a new DAW can be a pain, but the shortcuts directly from the controller make it a breeze. At first I thought it was a compability issue with Cubase, which Ive also read a lot of posts on, but then I decided to try it out. I almost never touch a keyboard or mouse when using the HW and SW together. Maybe Im just stupid when it comes to MIDI, but here it goes: My Maschine Mikro Mk3 works perfectly fine in the Maschine 2 software, but when I change over to MIDI mode it seems to stop working any and everywhere. ![]() I used to use Maschine 2 as my sole DAW, then export for Pro-Tools to track vocals. Maschine Mk3 or Mikro Id quite like to get the Maschine Mk3 for jamming and creating ideas on the fly. they can be found pretty cheap and the integration with NI software is unparalleled. But seriously I've owned all of the machine MK2 line and I would recommend picking up an mk2 unless you need an interface. The best way to use Maschine is to render stems within Maschine standalone and mix these stems and finish your tracks in a proper daw.Īn alternative might be something like this, which promises to bring komplete kontrol support to push (I mean, all you really need is a mapping for your 8 encoders) I haven't tried this, though If you're only looking for a great drum pad, then get the mini.īut, in my experience, Maschine doesn't play very nicely as a plugin, due to the limited routing options and the fact that your transport is fixed to that of the host, so most of the transport buttons on Maschine lose their real function. Knowing that, if you're using it as a plugin in Ableton and wish to take advantage of the NKS mapping, then the mini wouldn't suffice as it doesn't have the encoders. You will have to setup this routing yourself, however, and you're limited to 16 tracks. All of these can be rendered as stems if you're using Maschine standalone, and all of these can be routed to the host application when using Maschine as a plugin. You might already know this, but just to be sure In Maschine, sounds (one sound per pad) are collected in groups, which are summed in the master.
